Role: Choir Leader
Salary: £45 per hour (choir rehearsals and recruitment workshops)
Hours: Part-time, 3.5 hours per week

Armonico Consort in partnership with The Octagon Theatre & Westlands Entertainment Venue are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic choir leader to set up and deliver two new children’s choirs for 8-11 year olds and 12-16 year olds, which will run at Westlands Entertainment Venue as part of the Octagon Academy participation programme. 

These choirs will be delivered in partnership with Armonico Consort, with the appointed choir lead to receive training and support from Armonico Consort’s Education team and choirs able to take part in Armonico Consort’s exciting programme of events – including a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in June 2024 alongside 2,000 other children! 

Armonico Consort is a critically acclaimed choir and instrumental ensemble which entertains audiences across the country with its high-quality concerts, outstanding recordings, and innovative projects. 

The right candidate will have proven choir leading capabilities and excellent communication skills that will inspire and encourage our young singers. We will require recruitment workshops / assemblies to take place in September so that our singers are signed up ready for a September start. A pianist will be provided for rehearsals and recruitment workshops / assemblies. 

We are aiming for both our children’s and young persons’ choir to each have a membership of 50 singers by December 2023.
